Begbies Traynor Group has acquired Exeter-based advisory practice Regeneratus Consulting 1, the deal is Begbies Traynor’s third acquisition this year. In March, it acquired the Newcastle upon Tyne insolvency practice, KRE Corporate Recovery, and in June it bought up Dunion & Co, an insolvency firm in Stoke on Trent.
Regeneratus, which was founded in 2016 by Rob Insall as a restructuring, turnaround and legal issues specialist, has been remarkably successful over its three-year existence. Its most recent results – for the year to end March 2019 – show annual revenue of £0.6m, pre-tax profits of £0.2m and gross assets of £0.6m.
The Regeneratus team, including Insall, will join Begbies Traynor Group’s (BTG) existing South West practice, enhancing the services and advice for clients across the region.
Welcoming Insall and his team to BTG Advisory, Begbies executive chairman Ric Traynor said “This acquisition delivers on our strategy of developing the scale and quality of our businesses and continuing to develop our service offering.”
“Rob has successfully grown his practice over the last three years and we look forward to continuing this development as a part of the broader group.”
Founded by Rob Insall in 2016, the firm reported annual revenue of £600,000 and pre-tax profits (reported on the same basis as the group) of £200,000 in the financial year ended 31 March 2019.
