The Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) has awarded Centre of Excellence status, its highest accolade for best practice in credit management, to four companies: Aimia Foods, The Adecco Group UK & Ireland, Aggregate Industries and Veolia ES UK.

In the case of Aggregate Industries and Veolia, their status has been awarded for the second time.

To achieve such an honour, companies have to demonstrate on-going best practice and continuous improvement in credit, a culture of continuing professional development and progress towards qualified credit professionals, and a contribution to the credit community and further development of the credit profession.

Glenn Hudson, Managing Director of Aimia Foods says this is the culmination of a huge amount of work undertaken by the talented Aimia credit management team “We are very proud of the work they do, their strong relationship with the CICM and the knowledgeable, focused and mutually supportive role they play with our customers and our internal teams alike,” he explains. “We are therefore delighted, but not surprised that they have been recognised by the CICM as a Centre of Excellence.”

Elisabeth Doppelhofer, Senior Credit Manager, The Adecco Group UK & Ireland, says to obtain the Centre of Excellence status has been a firm ambition: “We are incredibly proud to be awarded the accolade. A huge focus for our management team is to ensure team members are professionally trained and developed, and for this to be recognised alongside our CICMQ re-accreditation is fantastic. This award is the result of dedication and hard work from every single team member.”

The Head of Education and Professional Development, Head of CICMQ Accreditation, and CICM Chief Executive review applications for CoE status before submitting them to the CICM’s Executive Board for final review. Decisions are announced after Executive Board meetings in March and September. Successful applicants achieve Centre of Excellence for two years.

Phil Rice FCICM, Head of Credit at Aggregate Industries, says being renewed as a CICM Centre of Excellence is a great reflection of the company’s commitment to professionalism, employee training and development: “This also highlights our credit team’s achievements and our continued engagement with the wider industry,” he says. “We are proud to be one of only five companies in the UK to achieve this accolade and are dedicated to further growth within our credit management team, in which every employee is a member of the Institute.”

Sarah Bolas MCICM, Credit Services Manager, Veolia ES UK, believes being a Centre of Excellence is the ultimate accolade: “I am so proud of the team’s achievements over the last few months. Our employees are fundamental to our team’s success and it is important that they possess the skills required to deal with the diversity and growth of our business. Over the next 12 months we have a structured training plan that will develop and strengthen our service offering while our employees gain qualifications.”
