During his eight-year tenure, Clarkson quickly built an enviable reputation whereby he would be typically handling well over 50 insolvency assignments per annum. With more than 20 years’ experience working with trade creditors, government bodies and lenders, Clarkson plans to use his expertise to further expand some of CVR’s established service lines. This will include developing the firm’s existing relationships with leading UK Asset Based Lenders (ABLs).
The newly-appointed Director will also be looking to actively advise businesses facing financial distress and in need of practical turnaround advice – an area in which he sees CVR providing a vital role as the country enters a period of unprecedented uncertainty in the backdrop of Brexit and other associated challenges. He will also lead CVR’s Creditor Services Team, using his extensive know-how to help creditors maximise their returns when faced with bad or doubtful debts, and applying the skills acquired during his time as a Board member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management.
Richard Toone, CVR’s Managing Partner, believes Clarkson’s appointment is another example of the continued growth the firm has experienced over the last 12 months. Brendan has an unrivalled network of industry contacts, clients and skillsets that will enable us to enhance the work that we do. Having someone with his expertise is a fantastic coup for us.”
Clarkson said “Historically we have worked with directors who require funding solutions by bringing in-depth case knowledge together with contacts within the ABL sector to facilitate these needs. My aim is to substantially grow our association with key providers operating in this crucial aspect of business finance, and to expand CVR’s brokerage offering.”
“My new role presents a unique opportunity to join up all the dots by working with both directors and creditors to achieve the best result for all parties.”
