Belmont Green has announced that Anth Mooney, former Director of Financial Services at Virgin Money, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO), subject to regulatory approval, and will be taking up his position in late January.
Mooney brings deep experience in the mortgage and savings market as well as more broadly in the financial services industry, including as Director of Financial Services at Virgin Money, Retail Banking Director at Northern Rock, Managing Director of Thomas Cook Money, and, most recently as CEO of Caversham Finance. He will succeed current CEO David Tweedy, who will be leaving the business once he has completed the handover of the role.
Mooney said “I’m excited by the opportunity to work with the senior team to deliver the next stage of Belmont Green’s journey and the further development of Vida’s intermediary-focused lending proposition. David has given us a great platform to build from, and I am delighted to be taking the reins for the next stage of its development.”
Belmont Green recently strengthened its Board by appointing Carol Sergeant CBE, former Chief Risk Officer of Lloyds Banking Group, and Robin Churchouse, former Finance Director of Yorkshire Building Society, as Independent Non-Executive Directors. These additions, along with today’s leadership changes, position the company to pursue its strategic initiatives and growth plans.
