The number and total value of judgments registered against Irish businesses saw a huge fall in the third quarter (Q3) of 2020 compared to the same quarter last year, new figures released by registrar Irish Judgments show.
Judgments against Irish businesses fell from 192 to 78, a decrease of 59 percent. The total value registered against businesses fell by 82 percent, from just under €5 million to just €907,346. The average value fell by 55 percent from €26,039 to €11,633.
Mick McAteer as Registrar said “The latest data on judgments showing huge falls in the number and value of judgments this quarter, suggests that income support and regulatory interventions have shielded Irish households and businesses from the worst effects of the financial shocks caused by Covid19. But, the picture may be very different once the support measures are unwound.”
