Money Advice Scotland appoints new CEO

Money Advice Scotland has announced that it has appointed Janine Rennie as our new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) replacing previous lead Peter Costello, who left the charity after a successful tenure to take up another post in the Scottish Third Sector.

Rennie who commences her role in June, has a strong track-record of leading organisations with a social purpose. As CEO of Wellbeing Scotland for fifteen years, she drove its mission to advocate and care for the survivors of childhood abuse and sexual exploitation, growing the organisation to 100 staff and 150 volunteers and a budget of circa £2m. Working with key stakeholders to ease the financial stresses and trauma experienced by the many people supported by Wellbeing Scotland was an essential facet of her role. Training and education has also been a passion of Rennie’s, having overseen the roll-out of school counselling services across the country.

A qualified accountant at Fellow level, Rennie most recently has been working in interim Finance roles in addition to working as a local Councillor in Clackmannanshire where she lives.
