Credit management firm Intrum UK has announced that it has appointed Phil McGilvray as its new Managing Director (MD).

McGilvray has a career in financial services leadership spanning more than 25 years. He will take the UK business into its next stage of development as the company expands its market-leading financial services offering.

McGilvray was previously chief executive of COEO UK, where he launched the company’s AI-focused technology business, established a debt purchase function and played a leading role in the group sale of the company to doValue. Previously, he has held senior positions at Equifax/TDX, Cabot Credit Management and American Express. He continues to serve as Vice President on the Institute of Customer Service’s advisory board.

McGilvray said, “I’m delighted to be joining Intrum UK at this stage in the company’s evolution. I have been inspired by Intrum’s strong customer service credentials as well as its appetite to expand its services to clients through innovation and technology.

“I look forward to working with the team to take advantage of the opportunities to transform our service proposition, while continuing Intrum’s strong track record in customer service excellence and ethical collections.

“I want to thank Gavin Flynn for his leadership of the business over this transitional period. He will continue his role as Operations Director and closely partner with the senior team and me to lead our transformation efforts.”
