1st May 2026

Sonia Jordan, a solicitor and partner at Knights, with more than 30 years’ experience advising on corporate restructuring and recovery, has been appointed President of R3, the restructuring, turnaround and insolvency trade association.

As President, Jordan will work with R3’s CEO, senior management team and Council to help shape and deliver R3’s strategy for the next twelve months and support its day‑to‑day operations. Jordan succeeds Tom Russell, a licensed insolvency practitioner and director at James Cowper Kreston.

Jordan has been actively involved with R3 for many years, most recently as Vice President.

Caroline Sumner, Chief Executive of R3, said “Sonia’s detailed knowledge and expertise in restructuring, turnaround and insolvency, combined with her commitment to championing the profession’s value will be a real asset during her year as R3 President.

“She has a clear vision for strengthening engagement with policymakers and supporting members at every stage of their career while promoting restructuring, turnaround and insolvency as an attractive career option to new entrants.

“I would also like to thank Tom Russell for his leadership and contribution during his year as President and I am very much looking forward to working closely with Sonia.”
