Latest figures from Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB) have shown that business insolvencies in Scotland increased by 21% in July 2024.
In July 2024 there were 117 business insolvencies registered in Scotland, which was 21% higher than in July 2023.
The insolvencies comprised of 76 CVLs, 33 compulsory liquidations and eight administrations.
There were no CVAs or receivership appointments.

Business insolvency numbers (liquidations and receiverships) in Scotland for Q1 2024-2025 decreased by 3.1% compared with Quarter 1 (Q!) 2023-2024, to a total of 283 according to latest figures from Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB). In June 2024 there were 109 business insolvencies registered in Scotland, 4% lower than the number in June 2023. Latest monthly statistics from the Insolvency Service have shown that business insolvencies increased, whilst personal insolvencies fell in Northern Ireland in June 2024.
