Business bank Zempler Bank has named its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Dominic Wade, as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), pending regulatory approval.
Wade succeeds Rich Wagner, Zempler’s founding CEO, who stepped down earlier this months, with Wagner moving to a part-time advisory role to the board, led by Chair Mark Sismey-Durrant.
The leadership change follows Zempler’s recent acquisition by Access Bank UK, the UK subsidiary of Nigeria’s Access Bank, and represents the first major shift since the African bank assumed control of the company.
Wade’s experience includes senior positions at Merrill Lynch, UBS, Credit Suisse, NatWest Markets, and the wider NatWest Group. Notably, between 2018 and 2020, Wade led NatWest’s preparations for the business implications of Brexit.
Zempler was previously known as CashPlus until its rebrand in 2024.
