Begbies Traynor makes promotion announcement

Begbies Traynor has announced that Scott Kippax has taken over the leadership at Begbies Traynor in Exeter following promotion.

Kippax, a seasoned insolvency practitioner with over 20 years of experience in corporate restructuring and insolvency, He joined the firm in October 2020 and works with businesses across Devon and Cornwall offering a comprehensive suite of rescue, recovery and restructuring services. He is fully licenced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

The move extends the team’s overall numbers in Exeter to eight, making it one of the largest insolvency specialist operations in the city and comes after longstanding office head, Ian Walker, stepped down from the role in May this year.

Commenting on the news, Scott Kippax said “It’s a real privilege to take on the office head role from such an accomplished and respected practitioner as Ian. As we tentatively come out of the final phase of lockdown, we are seeing increasing enquiries from companies across the South West who are actively reflecting on their post-pandemic position and we’re looking forward to working with more businesses as they prepare for what are likely to be a challenging and unpredictable number of months ahead.”

Separately the company has announced it has appointed personal insolvency specialist David Tannock as a manager at its Glasgow office.

With more than 18 years of experience in the insolvency sector, Tannock joins from an accountancy and business advisory services firm in Glasgow where he spent almost four years as an insolvency manager, having previously worked or another chartered accountancy practice in the city for nine years.

Tannock has a broad range of experience covering insolvency and debt solutions, including helping struggling individuals and businesses on matters such as trust deeds, sequestrations and Debt Arrangement Schemes.

From his base in Glasgow, Tannock will work with the team to provide personal insolvency expertise to clients across Scotland from Begbies Traynor’s offices in Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen.
