Vanquis has announced the launch of the Vanquis Benefits Checker, a new digital tool designed to help customers quickly and easily identify benefits and social tariffs they may be entitled to, ensuring fewer households miss out on vital financial support.
£24.1 billion of income-related benefits and social tariffs in Great Britain go unclaimed every year. The Vanquis Benefits Checker aims to close that gap for its customers by making it simple to discover and access support they are eligible for.
The new service follows a successful pilot partnership with Fair Finance, which has already helped more than 11,000 people identify and claim over £17 million in benefits since December 2024 through a decline referral programme. Both these initiatives align with regulators’ calls for firms to take proactive, collaborative steps to improve customer wellbeing and is in line with the UK Government’s commitment to develop a National Strategy for Financial Inclusion, in partnership with the financial services sector and the Financial Inclusion Committee.
Ian McLaughlin, CEO of Vanquis, said “Helping customers access the benefits they’re entitled to is a powerful way to ease financial pressure, reduce reliance on borrowing, and support a more secure future. Too many low-income households miss out, and we’re determined to change that.”
