Trade credit insurer Atradius has announced promotion within its underwriting team.
Ruby Hartery has been promoted to the position of Senior Underwriter, heading up the retail and services team at Atradius, located at its UK headquarters in Cardiff Bay.
Hartley first joined Atradius as part of the credit insurer’s internship programme, taking a sandwich placement during her degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of South Wales. After graduating with first-class honours in 2017, Ruby secured a role as an Underwriter at Atradius where she managed a portfolio of construction materials and engineering buyers.
Eighteen months later, Hartley moved to Atradius’ retail and services team, underwriting retail risks for sectors including fashion and supermarkets. She has now been promoted to the role of Senior Underwriter, overseeing the wider team and managing a large retail portfolio analysing risk, underwriting customer limits and developing close relationships with buyers to build up an accurate and informed risk profile.
Alongside Hartley’s promotion, Atradius has appointed finance graduate Lewis Clare to the role of underwriter supporting fellow retail and services underwriters Faye Jones and Elliot Clement.
Simon Rockett, Senior Underwriting Manager for Atradius UK, said “Initiatives such as Atradius’ underwriting internships and financial services graduate management scheme allow us to invest in the next generation of talent and nurture individuals throughout their career at Atradius. After initially undertaking an internship, we’re pleased to see Ruby flourishing at Atradius and rewarded with promotion.”
