MALG Conference to focus on leadership, diversity and inclusion

20th August 2021

The Money Advice Liaison Group (MALG), the not-for-profit membership organisation that brings together the money advice, credit, and debt landscape sectors have announced the theme of its first face-to-face conference since the pandemic.

The 2021 MALG Conference, which will be held at No.11 Cavendish Square in London on 28 October 2021, will focus on leadership, diversity & Inclusion. The theme was decided upon in response to demand from members to face the challenges of becoming a more diverse sector head-on.

Bob Winnington, Chief Executive Officer of MALG, said “After 18 months of virtual events which have allowed our members to continue ‘working together to improve the lives of people in debt’ throughout the pandemic, we are excited to have the ‘green light’ to go ahead with our face-to-face conference and bring everyone back together. We want to ensure that this year’s flagship event is as interactive and engaging as ever, and we believe that the theme is one which impacts all our members and the people they serve and urgently needs addressing.”

Sebrina McCullough, Head of External Relations at Financial Wellness Group and Chair of the MALG Conference Committee, said “We hope the conference will create an opportunity for all of us – across the money advice, credit and debt landscape – to ask whether we are individually and collectively doing enough to ensure that diversity & inclusion is at the forefront of our collective consciousness. Discussions on inclusive language, digital exclusion, and wellbeing will be on the agenda alongside the interesting sector specific content we have come to expect from MALG events.”
