Duff & Phelps appoints Managing Director for Restructuring Advisory Practice

Duff & Phelps has announced that Phil Dakin is joining the firm’s Restructuring Advisory practice as a Managing Director in its London office. Dakin brings more than 15 years’ experience in the corporate restructuring and insolvency sector, having advised companies on procedures including independent business reviews, operational and financial restructuring, and formal insolvency appointments.

Dakin joins Duff & Phelps from Greybull Capital, where he was an integral part of the team which completed the acquisition of Tata Steel’s Scunthorpe Steelworks, resulting in the rescue of 4,000 jobs. He also worked on Greybull’s deal to buy 140 convenience stores from Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc, supporting a bid led by former Secret Millionaire Mike Greene and establishing the MyLocal chain of stores. Prior to his role at Greybull Capital, Phil worked as a Director at Begbies Traynor and as a Senior Manager at KPMG.

Phil is a licensed insolvency practitioner and holds a degree from Durham University.
