Latest statistics from the Insolvency Service have shown that Northern Irish personal and business insolvencies numbers are continuing to fall.
Overall number of personal and business insolvencies have continued to remain low since the start of the first UK lockdown in March 2020
In April 2021 there were 226 personal insolvencies in Northern Ireland which was 31% lower than April 2019. The numbers consisted of 208 IVAs, nine DROs and nine bankruptcies. There were no individual insolvencies in Northern Ireland in April 2020.
Business insolvency figures from April 2021 indicates that there were five company insolvencies registered in Northern Ireland, this was 67% higher than in April 2020 but 74% lower than April 2019. This comprised of two compulsory liquidations and two CVLs.
