Ovo Energy appoints new Non-Executive Director

Ovo Energy has announced the appointment of Jonson Cox as Non-Executive Director of the recently created OVO Energy board.

Following the acquisition of SSE‘s supply business in January 2020, OVO Energy established a new board chaired by Stacey Cartwright, for its UK retail business which oversees customer brands OVO Energy, SSE Energy Services, Boost, Spark and CORGI Homeplan. This is in addition to the existing OVO Group board.

Jonson Cox has wide experience in commercial and regulated businesses. After an early career with Shell, Cox has led two major turnarounds in the water industry taking both companies to high ranking positions in the sector:  Yorkshire Water in the late 1990s, and returning to the sector from 2004  to 2010 as Group Chief Executive of AWG plc, owner of Anglian Water Services and Morrison plc. He has served as Chair of Ofwat since 2012 and is a senior adviser to global fund I Squared Capital.
