The Credit Services Association (CSA), the only national trade association in the UK for organisations active in the debt collection and purchase industry, has appointed Daniel Spenceley as their new Head of Policy.
Working closely with CSA Chief Executive Chris Leslie and the senior management team, Spenceley will shape the policy development work on behalf of CSA member firms and ensure that the voice of members is heard at the highest level.
Spenceley joined the CSA in 2011 from Lowell Financial, and in that time has worked on compliance matters for both members and the CSA, researched and responded to consultations, produced guidance documents and hosts the CSA Regulation Roundtable events. Daniel was appointed Head of Regulatory Impact earlier in 2023.
Speaking of this new role, Spenceley said “I am thrilled to accept the position of Head of Policy and I look forward to working with colleagues, members and stakeholders to represent the industry’s interests with policy-makers. With a general election on the horizon, regulatory change on an ever-growing scale and an unpredictable economic outlook, the CSA will need to continue its hard work in ensuring members’ voices are heard.”
“I am eager to make sure that our work is as representative as possible and I would encourage members to get in touch if they have any key policy concerns they would like to discuss. I’ll be working with our Chief Executive, the CSA board, and my CSA colleagues to plot out a policy programme for 2024.”
CSA Chief Executive Chris Leslie said “Danny has great experience and familiarity with the collections and debt purchase sector and his insight and acumen will be a real advantage as we represent CSA member firms going into a period of potentially significant policy and regulatory change.”
