EY strengthens UK partnership with 120 new Equity Partners

11th July 2022

EY has continued to expand its UK partnership with the promotion of 75 Equity Partners and 45 external hires – its largest-ever cohort of Equity Partners in the UK. This builds on two years of strong growth, following the appointment of 103 Equity Partners in 2021.

The new appointments reflect the firm’s increased investment in its sectors, service lines and regional business, including in areas such as Audit, Technology Consulting, EY-Parthenon, Financial Services, Sustainability, Energy and Consumer Products.

Earlier this year, EY announced internally that it was expanding its Partner presence to meet strong demand from its clients by elevating the Associate Partner role to Partner across some of its regions, including the UK. Combined with this year’s Equity Partner appointments, this change brings EY’s total UK Partner number to 1,523.

Using the Partner title raises the importance of the existing Associate Partner role, recognising their expertise, client delivery and leadership. It will create career opportunities for EY’s people and attract talent with the skills needed to win in an evolving market – particularly in fast-growing areas such as sustainability and technology.

EY has continued to invest in EY-Parthenon’s UK Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy practice, with fiver senior Partner promotions: Kris Aspin is an Edinburgh-based restructuring advisor with over 15 years’ experience advising corporates, financial sponsors and lenders. He will lead the Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy practice based in Scotland, alongside Colin Dempster.

Deborah Lee has 18 years’ experience in corporate simplification and legal entity rationalisation and works with businesses to create optimum corporate structures. Dan Edkins specialises in formal insolvency and contingency planning and has delivered some of the largest and most complex cross border and UK-based insolvencies in the market. Selina Datta is a creditor and distressed corporate advisory specialist with 18 years’ experience. Lloyd McRitchie focuses on business turnaround and supports clients to plan and deliver their own internal restructuring and transformations.

Alan Hudson, EY-Parthenon Partner and UK&I Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy Leader, said “Our new Partner appointments reflect a significant investment in our people and business, across a variety of competencies and industry specialisms. With companies facing a convergence of challenges, from the pandemic and climate change to economic uncertainty and shifting consumer habits, we’re investing in the talent and skills needed to help our clients recover, preserve, and create value, whilst building trust with their stakeholders.”

“This year, we celebrate the success of our Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy colleagues who are leading the market across; formal insolvency, creditor and distressed corporate advisory, turnaround and corporate simplification. I’m very much looking forward to what we can achieve together with the wider EY firm to support our clients in the years to come.”
