StepChange has announced the appointment of Alex Pitcher as its new Chief Risk Officer, who will join the charity in June.
Pitcher is currently leading credit reference agency TransUnion’s global risk management team and approach, having previously managed the UK risk function.
StepChange says Pitcher’s wealth of experience will be crucial to supporting the implementation of the FCA’s Consumer Duty and driving forward the charity’s focus on ensuring good outcomes for all clients. He has over 15 years of experience across the financial services sector. Alongside his recent work at TransUnion, Alex previously worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland Group in Edinburgh before moving to Yorkshire where he held roles at PwC and Yorkshire Building Society.
In addition, Pitcher is a member of the leadership team of C3 YRKS church, based in Leeds and York.
Commenting on the appointment, StepChange CEO Phil Andrew, said “We’re delighted to welcome Alex to StepChange at such a critical time for the charity, and we look forward to the insight and experience he will bring as we implement the Consumer Duty across our services.”
“I’d like to take this opportunity thank our current Director of Risk and Compliance, Ian Phillips, who will be leaving the charity in June. During his time at StepChange, Ian has driven forward our Risk Framework and ensured we are well placed to deliver Consumer Duty for our clients.”
