StepChange opens recruitment search for new Chair

17th November 2023

StepChange Debt Charity has announced that it has begun the recruitment process for its next Chair of Trustees after its Chair, John Griffith-Jones, announced he will be stepping down next May at the end of his term of office.

Griffith-Jones, who was Chair of the Financial Conduct Authority from 2013 to 2018 and previously held senior roles at KPMG, has chaired the StepChange Board of Trustees since January 2019. He has helped steer the charity through the turbulent years of Covid, the cost of living crisis, and significant changes in the debt advice sector.

John Griffith-Jones said “I consider it a privilege to be chair of StepChange Debt Charity given the vital work that it does. I shall be sad to be leaving next May but have every confidence that the good work will go on under my successor.”

Saxton Bampfylde has been appointed to undertake the search to appoint the next Chair of the charity.
