Jaja Finance and Plain Numbers agree partnership

6th October 2022

Digital lender, Jaja Finance has become the UK’s first credit card provider to partner with Plain Numbers.

At a time when consumers across the country continue to feel the squeeze as the cost-of-living soars and economic uncertainty intensifies, Jaja’s new three-year partnership with Plain Numbers is a commitment to helping customers understand and manage their finances.

It is estimated that just under half of working-age adults in the UK have numeracy skills at or below the level expected of an 11-year-old, with about 20 million people in Britain having poor numeracy skills.  So, as part of the initiative Jaja’s employees will take part in the Plain Numbers training programme, to develop and improve the delivery and service around the way numbers are communicated to customers.  Jaja’s team will be learning to apply an approach which has demonstrated that it can double customer comprehension. This will help ensure the financial health of customers while safeguarding responsible lending.

David Chan, CEO at Jaja Finance said “Millions of adults across the UK struggle with understanding numbers and it is our job, as a responsible lender, to ensure that we give our customers the help, support and tools they need to fully understand their financial situation which will inform their spending decisions.”

“Our partnership with Plain Numbers means we can make a difference to our customers’ understanding of their bills and help improve their financial wellbeing.”

Mike Ellicock, CEO & Co-Founder of Plain Numbers said “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Jaja to the Plain Numbers Community. We’re excited by the clear alignment between our mission and Jaja’s aim to simplify the credit card experience. With consumers facing difficult financial decisions at the moment, it’s more important than ever to help them make informed choices. Thanks to Jaja’s commitment to this partnership, we can help their customers do exactly that.”
