UK Finance makes new board appointments

UK Finance has announced new board appointments. Thierry d’Argent, CEO, Societe Generale UK; Saif Malik, CEO, UK, Standard Chartered; and Mickey Schiller, CEO, Leumi UK, have all been appointed.

TS Anil, CEO, Monzo and Kelly Devine, Divisional President UK & Ireland, Mastercard, stepped down from the board on 1st February. Anne Marie Verstraeten, Vice Chair BNP Paribas UK, will also step down from the Board 13th February.

Thierry d’Argent is CEO of Societe Generale London Branch and Group Chief Country Officer, UK and Ireland, and a member of its Executive Committee, Global Banking and Investor Solutions division, and the Group’s Management Board. D’Argent was previously Societe Generale’s Global Head of Coverage and Investment Banking, as well as Deputy Head of the Global Banking and Advisory business unit. He previously worked at J.P. Morgan as an M&A practitioner, where he became a Managing Director in 2001 in charge of its Investment Banking practice in France. He advises some of the largest corporations and financial institutions across Europe, Asia, Latin America and the United States.

Saif Malik is the CEO, UK and a member of the Global Client Coverage Leadership team at Standard Chartered, a leading international cross-border bank. In his current role, Malik leads the management and development of corporate and financial institution client relationships in the UK and Turkey. Prior to this role, he was Global Head of Global Subsidiaries at Standard Chartered. Saif possesses extensive global banking leadership experience having held senior management roles based in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Mickey Schiller is CEO of Leumi UK Group, a leading middle market specialist lender in the UK and in Europe, and a subsidiary of Israel’s largest financial group, Bank Leumi. At Leumi UK, Schiller has embarked on a refocused strategy to the property, hotels, and asset-based lending sectors, positioning Leumi UK as the go-to relationship funding partner in chosen sectors. Previously, Mickey held senior executive roles with Bank Hapoalim as head of international banking operations across Europe, Latin America and the United States, ABN AMRO Bank in Hong Kong as Asia head of strategy & business development, and Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore and Hong Kong as a global markets structurer.
